An adjunct to Desmond’s playing steel drum music is making the steel drums. He studied and mastered the art of making the drums by being taught by the World #1 pan builder and teacher Ellie Mannette at the West Virginia University in Morgan Town in West Virginia in America.
Today, Des has his own workshop where he makes and sells drums to musicians and also to the public.
